Day Four, The Smokies

We drove into the Smoky Mountain National Park on our last full day. We went to the state line were Tennessee ends and North Carolina beings and ate some lunch out of the back of the van. It was fun. We went on two hiking trails. On the last one Ruby walked most of it, and she had to sit on every bench and touch every sign.
After all the nature stuff we went back to our cabin and rested up for a big night on the town. We went to eat, then we played mini-golf, and then we rode go karts. The kind that has different levels. Davy took Sophie and I took Haley. Haley rode on little karts by herself and Sophie was cheering her on like her life depended on it. It was so funny, people were staring at her, and they didn’t know what to think. When that was over we went to the arcade and played games to win tickets to get prizes. I was so tired after all that but I promised the girls they could go to the ice-cream shop after all the activities were over. I was praying that it was closed, but it wasn’t. Even though all I wanted to do was to go to bed, it was nice to see them so happy with their ice cream all over their tired little faces.

Oh, I'm so glad you had a good time. It makes me want to go to Tenn.
Gatlinburg has always been one of my favorite places to go.

One of the best vacations Dad and I ever had was there.

Thanks for the pictures
Love
