Vacation Time!!!!!

This our home for next week!

This Sunday is the beginning of our vacation. After church, or sometime after (Davy has a committee meeting) we are headed north until Thursday. Gatlinburg, Tennessee to be exact.

We’ve rented a log cabin with a heart shaped bath tub, which I think the girls will love. And there is a hot tub in the back.

On Monday we are going to Dollywood, which I think will be a lot like Silver Dollar City. After that I have no idea. I think we’ll have a good time. Just as long as we can get rid of pink eye.

I love the idea of our kids having these types of memories. I didn’t have family vacations growing up. I went to my Grandparents a lot, and when I spent some summers with my Mom we camp a lot. But not a week of vacation or anything like this. We looked at the Dollywood website a few months ago and the girls were so excited.

I had a bit of a memory flashback today when I went out back and got a big whiff of the pine trees next to us. My Mom would take me camping and fishing up in the Rockies. Not RV camping but in a tent, with a fire going all night. Our meals were cooked on the fire, even the meals that we caught. It was fun, except in the morning, oh my was it cold. Thanks Mom!

So I’ll try to post about our trip when we get back, we have no internet access, maybe at a Starbucks. It will be like living in the Dark Ages. Have a great week everyone! Keep Haley, Sophie, and Ruby’s parents in you prayers; I’m sure there will be some trying times.
