An Outing With Apple, Baby Lane, and Pisty

It is always a strange comfort when I see April or Christy. It always feels like I just saw them the day before. Except we’ve aged a little more and we are wiser. Okay maybe not wise but definitely a wisenheimer. When I moved to Ponca at the ripe age of 21, I had no one except Haley. I’m sure you might think “You had Haley’s Dad and his family.” Not really, I never let anyone in and I really felt lost. But I did make some friends and they sort of became my Ponca City family. April and Christy have always been there and I hope to think I am there for them too. I have 3 half brothers who are way younger than me but no other siblings. I also have sister in-laws that are pretty great but I live so far away to spend any time with them and start building those bonds. The closest thing that I ever had to a sister was my cousin Terry and I drove her nuts. But she lives in California and I probably won’t see her until we have a funeral to attend. We do send Christmas cards to each other. Now I am totally off subject. My point is this, I love those chickens very much and I hope that my girls will love each other the same way. I think all you need is one or two great friends, weather it is your Mom, Dad, Sister, Brother, Husband, Cousins, or someone you have no relation to. I know that some times I need to vent or just talk about random stuff, and I know that my husband really doesn’t want to hear any of it, (besides men are fixers, and I don’t always need it to be fixed, venting about it cures it most of the time) so I just call one of my Jiminy Crickets and they just listen. And when I finally run out of steam it’s their turn. In April’s words ‘You’re the best!’
