April flew in on Wednesday evening, and Lane was sick. He was weak and wouldn't sit up, eat, and cry out when he was sleeping. We decided to take him to the emergency room that night after talking with his nurse in Kansas. He went to the Doctors on Monday to get an okay to fly, he had a cold. So we went into the emergency room and they got him right in. After they decided they could not diagnose him they took him and April to the children's hospital in Atlanta, the second best in the country. He had his first helicopter ride. At 12 AM on my way to that hospital April called and said he was going into heart failure, they were moving him to the sister hospital, Brent was on his way. After the helicopter dude gave me directions to the next hospital (exit 89, right at the QT, left at the next QT) so after getting too much info, crying lost, looking for my first land mark, I called my deeply sleeping husband. After I told him the news, sick baby Lane, lost, and helicopter rides he got me calm so I wouldn't kill myself driving. By the way, those were the best directions I ever got! Lane was getting treated for the lack of oxygen he was getting. He had a quick Eco to see what his heart doing, and it looked good. He was admitted to the Pediatric ICU and I went back home about 3:AM. I got about an hour of sleep, made arrangements for my children went back to the hospital. Brent, Micki, and her husband Nate came in at 1:30 that day. Yesterday we finally got a prognoses, he has RSV; Respiratory Syncytial Virus. Bad cold like flu/Pneumonia. As soon as he can get off the oxygen he'll be able to leave the hospital.
