Some More

These are other book series that I’ve read over the years. The Gunslinger books are pretty entertaining to read. Not only did he use characters from other books he wrote but he also incorporated himself and his experience of being ran over in it too. I loved the series, hated the ending. I guess it can’t be easy to end a story that you’ve had in your head for most of your life.
The Necroscope books are a little more sci-fi. Alien vampires, portals, math, gypsies, psychics and British government agents. There is also a spin off series too. I didn’t like how that ended either. I expect too much from these writers. But I will probably re-read them anyway.
Ann Rice’s Vampire Chronicles were okay. The Mayfair Witch, and Altos stories were to sexual for me. Reading her book always made me feel like I was reading a gothic version of a Harlequin romance book. I think that the Queen of the Damned is the best out of all of them. I have re-read that book a lot.
The Maximum books are an easy read. The story came from ‘From were the wind blows’ and ‘The Lake House’ books by James Patterson. From what I understand the Maximum series are for a younger audience, but I still like to read them. I just finished the third book and I’m sure if there will be more. I think he left the possibility open for more books.
My mothers library influenced my taste in fiction. I really don’t have too many childhood memories when my mom wasn’t reading something that didn’t have a scary picture on the cover. She had book cases full of books and comic books. I would look at them for hours and wonder what the story was about. I couldn’t read very well then, or I thought I couldn’t so I didn’t try. I think I picked up my first Stephen King book when I was thirteen, and it was Pet Cemetery. Scared me pretty good. Thanks Mom!! If it wasn’t for you I would probably be reading Danielle Steel.
