My Little Ones

Ruby is growing so big. She will be Eight months tomorrow. As you can see she has one tooth. She’s pretty happy, loves to be around her family, and has a new love of string. She will crawl up to you and play with your shoe laces. So I gave her own shoe lace that she drags with her around the house.
Sophie is still the number one drama queen of the house. Every moment of the day is devoted to getting our attention. Good or bad attention. She is such a sweet, smart, loving, and funny child. It truly sucks when she is in one of her moods. I pray every time a tantrum starts that this phase will go away soon. A couple of nights ago we were eating spaghetti and she held out her noodle and said “BEHOLD!” It still makes me laugh. Where does she get this stuff?
Haley is doing okay with the roll of the big sister. I can see that she enjoys Ruby a lot more than she did when Sophie was born. Haley does have a new ambition in life. This morning she told Davy that she wants to be on TV. He asked her if she wanted to be a weather girl. She said, “No, I want to tell jokes on TV.” The first thought I had was that we will be lending her a lot of money because her jokes are NOT FUNNY.
Example: Were does a cow eat? Dairy Queen
I think she might have borrowed that one from a joke web sight for kids. You should hear the one she makes up on her own. I personally think she should do some type of humanitarian work. She has always been such a deep feeling person. She has two friends in the hood, Madison 6, and Summer 10. Sophie calls Summer, Spring. It’s sad when Haley goes because Sophie is left behind crying. Momma has to come and save the day. We color or play in the rain. Kids that really miss their Grandmas, Grandpas, Aunts, Uncles, even their cousin’s. Some times they have to miss their Daddy too.

Ruby: She is sooo adorable! Just as precious as she can be! I hate that I'm not close enough to help spoil her.

Sophie: That picture of her makes her look absolutely devious. Ornery as the day is long. I love that she's so witty. She gets the changing Summer to Spring thing from the Kear side.

Haley: You know, that girl has been telling jokes ever since I've met her. It started with the Knock, Knock jokes and moved on to the made-up stuff. She must have a passion for comedy. I say go for it but don't quit your day job.

Haley and Sophie are learning their catechism questions and answers with one of those “My First Catechism” books. We practice them every night at supper. Haley is doing very well. Sophie is doing pretty good too for a girl that is not yet three. On the question of naming the three persons of the Godhead Sophie always answers; God the father, God the Sunshine, and God the Holy Spirit.

That's cute. God the Sunshine. I just think she's a budding theologian who is relating the prophetic significance of Malachi 4:2 to the early church's developing understanding of the triune nature of the Godhead. Or perhaps she's a young hymnologist who is expressing, like Beethoven before her, the "joyful music" which "leads us sunward in the triumph song of life."
